{"id":621606,"date":"2026-10-05T20:32:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T20:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/621606\/"},"modified":"2026-10-05T20:32:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T20:32:10","slug":"christopher-luxon-and-chris-hipkins-face-do-or-die-debate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/621606\/","title":{"rendered":"Christopher Luxon and Chris Hipkins face do or die debate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"INdwqXkrxOG\" style=\"display:none\">So far, the two leaders are running a near repeat of the campaigning styles from the 2023 election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"INdwqXkrxOG\" style=\"display:none\">Luxon, something of an extrovert, is throwing himself at public meetings and walkabouts with mostly positive results, much like he did in 2023. <\/p>\n<p class=\"INdwqXkrxOG\" style=\"display:none\">Hipkins, somewhat more introverted and less inclined to draw enormous crowds in walkabouts, is a far more reliable debate performer and goes into the debates expected to perform better than Luxon. <\/p>\n<p class=\"INdwqXkrxOG\" style=\"display:none\">Hipkins, who has nearly a decade\u2019s experience as an MP more than Luxon, is a more experienced and comfortable debater. <\/p>\n<p class=\"INdwqXkrxOG\" style=\"display:none\">Despite trailing National in the polls in 2023, Hipkins was widely seen to have performed well in last election\u2019s debates.
