House Of The Dragon<\/a>\u2019s Ewan Mitchell is expected to play a villain in the upcoming James Bond<\/a> film, says a new rumour.<\/p>\n

Amazon<\/a> is currently working on a James Bond reboot following Daniel Craig<\/a>\u2019s departure as 007 at the end of 2021\u2019s No Time To Die<\/a>. The streaming giant bought the rights to the franchise last year<\/a>, in a deal believed to be worth around $1billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s since been confirmed that Denis Villeneuve<\/a> (Dune<\/a>) will be directing Bond 26 from a script by Steven Knight<\/a> (Peaky Blinders<\/a>) but casting news is still to be announced.<\/p>\n

However, according to The Sun<\/a>, Ewan Mitchell \u2013 who plays Prince Aemond Targaryen in House Of The Dragon \u2013 is being considered to play a villain in the new 007 film. Mitchell hasn\u2019t commented on the report, though official news about the new James Bond film is expected soon.<\/p>\n

Today (Monday October 5) is James Bond Day, which marks the release of 1962\u2019s Dr. No. Some optimistic fans are expecting the annual celebration of all things 007 to include news on who the next James Bond is after months of speculation. \u201cThe search for the next James Bond is underway<\/a>,\u201d Amazon confirmed back in May. \u201cWhile we don\u2019t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we\u2019re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy Pascal, who\u2019s producing the new James Bond film at Amazon, has said the new 007 will be cast by the end of the year<\/a>. \u201cWe are being really, really methodical. I mean, Daniel Craig is a hard act to follow. And it\u2019s got to be something really different that is stirring, exciting and different.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to reports, Tom Holland is unable to pursue the role due to his Marvel contract<\/a>. Taron Egerton has ruled himself out<\/a> as Bond while Callum Turner has dodged red carpet questions about his involvement in the project<\/a>. Gary Oldman has backed his Slow Horses<\/a> co-star Jack Lowden as the next 007<\/a> and Danny Boyle<\/a> wants Jack O\u2019Connell to take on the role<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, House Of The Dragon season three premiered earlier this year, with the fourth and final season set to air in 2028<\/a>. It\u2019s not the end of the Game Of Thrones <\/a>universe though.
