Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days has brought a notable price drop to Sony’s Cinema Line. The Sony FX3A ($3,998 on Amazon) is now listed at $3,998, marking its lowest Amazon price of 2026 according to the retailer’s own price-history indication shown on the product page. The camera normally carries a list price of $4,299.99, putting the current reduction at roughly $302, or 7%. Amazon marks the offer as a limited-time deal, and the timing coincides with Prime Big Deal Days, which runs October 6–7 with 48 hours of Prime-exclusive offers. Amazon says new deals are being introduced throughout the event, with many products reaching their lowest prices of the year so far.

The more significant part of the deal is not necessarily the 7% discount itself, but the fact that the FX3A has now moved below the $4,000 threshold. At $3,998, Amazon is positioning one of Sony’s most established compact Cinema Line cameras at its lowest price point of the year. The listing also currently shows both the FX3A and the original FX3 ($3,998 on Amazon) configuration at $3,998, although availability and pricing can change during the event. For filmmakers who have been following FX3 pricing rather than simply looking for the largest percentage discount, this is the more relevant metric. The camera has remained relatively stable in price despite being a mature product, making a new yearly low more noteworthy than the headline percentage might suggest.

The main consideration in 2026 is that the FX3 is no longer a new camera. Buyers now have a broader Sony Cinema Line ecosystem to consider, and anyone purchasing a camera around the $4,000 level should evaluate whether the FX3’s specific form factor and workflow remain the right fit. But maturity can also work in its favor. The FX3 is a well-established production tool with a large accessory ecosystem, mature firmware, broad E-mount lens support, and years of real-world use behind it. For shooters who specifically want an FX3 rather than simply the newest Sony body, $3,998 is therefore a more compelling entry point than the regular $4,299.99 price.

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days runs through October 7, with the event officially scheduled for 48 hours. Amazon says new deal drops are being introduced three times per day, so pricing and availability can change as the event progresses. The Sony FX3A deal is currently marked as limited time, meaning there is no guarantee that the $3,998 price will remain available for the full duration of Prime Big Deal Days.

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days has brought a notable price drop to Sony’s Cinema Line.
