The filmmakers say the theatrical engagement will be a milestone for a fully <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ai\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ai\" data-tag=\"ai\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI<\/a> feature, adding that it is the first AI film to receive an MPA rating (R) and also to be campaigned in the Best Animated Feature category at the Academy Awards. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe trailer will go to theaters on Friday, along with lobby posters, and billboard ads are due to begin in November.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFull of trippy visuals matching London\u2019s other work, Gods Don\u2019t Give Gifts is billed as taking place in the \u201cscience-fiction, horror-tinged world of the \u2018Second Cycle of Humanity\u2019 where transhumanism has accelerated to the point that humanity looks very different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe film, which was previewed last month at the Venice Film Festival market, is produced by <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/edward-saatchi\/\" id=\"auto-tag_edward-saatchi\" data-tag=\"edward-saatchi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Edward Saatchi<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/fable\/\" id=\"auto-tag_fable\" data-tag=\"fable\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fable<\/a>, Saatchi\u2019s AI company, counts Amazon among its backers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe filmmakers hope to draw interest in a market that has taken notice of YouTube creators in a big way over the past year, with significant grosses pulled in by the likes of Obsession, Backrooms and Iron Lung.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOver the past five years, Saatchi said in a statement, \u201cthe question has been when will an AI film win an Oscar? Gods Don\u2019t Give Gifts is the first that has a shot at a nomination and then it\u2019s all to play for. We will be screening for voters and running a traditional campaign.
