I think the challenge has been a true discussion point for many.

“I managed to get into the entrance to the Hill-Dickinson Stadium home of Everton FC to get them done while on a morning run during the first week. I cannot thank enough the two security guards who let me in.

“I also want to thank everyone who took time out of their day to join me in the challenge. It has really meant a lot.

“Thanks to those who have kept posting and sharing awareness throughout the month. I appreciate all the guys getting involved and supporting the cause.”

Ross’ message is clear – men should speak up and not suffer in silence.

He said: “I wanted to show that men’s mental health has no colours. On the ninth day I did my press-ups on the grounds of Kilmarnock Football Club, which was important because they do loads of great work in their community, which is integral to the local area.

“Whatever problems you are facing, I can guarantee ‘this too shall pass. Check in on your friends and family. Even the largest smile covers up the deepest hurt.

“The 420 press-ups mean nothing if we can’t have open and honest conversations around men’s mental health to end the stigma.

“If I can ask you to do one thing today, it’s to check in on your friend, your family member or your colleague whom you maybe haven’t seen or spoken to in a while to check up on them.”

Anyone who may be struggling is encouraged to seek support from Release, Andy’s Man Club Ayr or Samaritans. Help is available, and you do not have to face things alone.

Ross McKenzie, from Ayr, did 14 press-ups every day in September to represent the 14 men who die…

[35
134,554,555,111,139,69
post-622660","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mental-health","tag-health","tag-mental-health","tag-mentalhealth","tag-new-zealand","tag-newzealand","tag-nz
["GET
