Matt Stone Racing and Brad Jones Racing went head-to-head in the first semi-final with the Jack Le Brocq Camaro and Andre Heimgartner Supra respectively.<\/p>\n
Heimgartner got the jump over Le Brocq and maintained that advantage through to the finish line.<\/p>\n
The second semi-final pitted Aaron Cameron\u2019s Blanchard Racing Team Mustang against Broc Feeney\u2019s Triple Eight Race Engineering Mustang.<\/p>\n
The two cars were evenly matched leaving the start line. Feeney ran long in his box but Cameron\u2019s pit stop was slow.<\/p>\n
Feeney was dropped first and crossed the finish line well clear of Cameron, who stalled when his car was dropped.<\/p>\n
In the final, Heimgartner and Feeney were almost inseparable leaving the start line. However, Heimgartner ran long in his pit bay, which proved the difference.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t interview me, these are the superstars,\u201d said Feeney, pointing at his pit crew.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never been so excited to win. I\u2019m so nervous. I was shaking, I was sweating.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese are the boys, don\u2019t worry about me. They\u2019ve done a great job.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just know how proud they are. They put in so much effort into this.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a shame to miss out last year because our guys are so fast. We actually do four tyre stops all the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur times even to make it into this are really awesome.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re training so much, nearly every day. They take so much pride in this. We\u2019re chuffed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey [BJR] got to go to America from winning this last time, so hopefully we\u2019re off again.<\/p>\n
\u201cGreat reward for them.\u201d<\/p>\n
In doing so, Triple Eight denied Brad Jones Racing a seventh Pit Stop Challenge title.<\/p>\n
Triple Eight team manager Mark Dutton hailed the efforts of the pit stop crew.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou would not believe how hard they work,\u201d said Dutton.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe get to work early and you\u2019ll often hear rattle guns going before six in the morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe work starts the second they\u2019re there, cracking out pit stop practice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re so devoted, so proud.\u201d<\/p>\n
Supercars practice gets underway on Thursday at 1:30pm AEDT.<\/p>\n
