Mary Deleary to Lead IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts <\/p>\n

The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) has appointed Mary Deleary (Chippewas of the Thames First Nation) as the new director of its Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, effective October 19. Currently heading the university’s Research Center for Contemporary Native Arts, Deleary graduated from IAIA with a BFA in Museum Studies in 2010 and later earned a PhD in Native American Art History from the University of Oklahoma. She holds a deep expertise in Anishinaabe leadership practices, Indigenous research methodologies, and archives and collection development.\u00a0Many years ago, Deleary was a student intern at the museum she will now lead, an early experience she said illuminated \u201cthe important role museums play in supporting Indigenous artists, students, and communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kinosaito Names Fall 2026 Artists in Residence\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Tsuyu Bridwell and Natsuki Takauji will participate in the month-long fall residency program<\/a> at Kinosaito in Verplanck, New York, a partnership with the Art Students League. Bridwell’s practice draws on her Korean and Japanese heritage to examine ancestral beliefs through traditional craft, sculpture, and installations inspired by nature. Takauji creates a range of work, from metal sculpture and multimedia pieces to public art, engaging motifs such as memory, sexuality, and trauma. <\/p>\n
