\u201cYou\u2019re not crazy. It\u2019s an important part of your brain that holds attachment-bonded relationships together by believing they\u2019re out there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Harry struggled to find happiness because he felt \u201cguilty\u201d about doing so without Diana in his life but eventually experienced a \u201chuge mental shift\u201d that completely changed his outlook on life.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI\u2019d spent so long emotionally numb, to a large extent, because I felt disloyal and guilty for the possibility of being happy and joyful without her.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt like I had to be sad and I had to be emotionally numb in order to prove to her that I missed her.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut the reality is, what I discovered was actually that she just wanted me to be happy. And that was a huge mental shift for me. It freed me, and it gave me a whole different outlook on life.<\/p>\n
The 42-year-old prince is driven by a desire to make his mother \u201cproud\u201d and his charity work has given him an outlet to carry her legacy on.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cEverything I do, everything I put my energy towards, I hope that my mother will be proud about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cTrying to continue and protect her legacy, what I didn\u2019t realise was the work that I ended up choosing, or the work that I ended up getting drawn in and attracted to, was so similar to the work that she was doing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith grief comes this, it\u2019s not so much responsibility, but this carrying of the person that you\u2019ve lost throughout your life.<\/p>\n
