A man has been charged in relation to the death of Christchurch man Braydon Hepworth. <\/p>\n
In an update today, Detective Inspector Scott Anderson said a 60-year-old Christchurch man was facing charges relating to the concealment of Hepworth\u2019s body and making a false statement. <\/p>\n
“He will appear in the Christchurch District Court this morning,” Anderson said. <\/p>\n
Hepworth, 21, was last seen at a Z Energy service station in Linwood, in Christchurch’s east, on September 3. <\/p>\n
A search warrant had been carried out at his last known address in Linwood last Friday.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, police found a body during a search warrant at a central Christchurch property on Hereford St, believed to be that of the missing 21-year-old. <\/p>\n
Anderson previously said the death was being treated as unexplained, and formal identification was ongoing. <\/p>\n
Police said it was providing Hepworth\u2019s wh\u0101nau with support at this “extremely difficult time”. <\/p>\n
“This is a devastating outcome for his family, and our hearts go out to them.
