\n\tCatherine Zeta-Jones<\/a> wants to see less AI<\/a> \u201cactors\u201d onscreen and more undiscovered human talents.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar winner recently commented on actors that have \u201cgiven themselves over\u201d to artificial intelligence companies, explaining that she prefers \u201cnot knowing anything\u201d about the actors she watches in movies and television.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s so many actors already, who have given themselves over to an AI company, and that\u2019s everyone\u2019s choice,\u201d she told the Associated Press<\/a>. \u201cBut I like going to the theater and seeing real people talk.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tZeta-Jones continued, \u201cI like going to movies and not knowing anything about the actors. I don\u2019t wanna know who they\u2019re sleeping with, what they wore, what they drink in the morning, how they keep their figure. I wanna be taken away and see a character, and that has happened for years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Kill Jackie star\u2019s comments come amid ongoing concerns around AI\u2019s plagiarism of copyrighted materials and the threat it poses to jobs in Hollywood and beyond, as well as recent warnings<\/a> from those working in AI that continued progress could \u201ccause a billion deaths<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tCalifornia Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order<\/a> last month to fast-track stringent oversight and control of AI. Convening \u201ca group of world-leading experts\u201d within the next 60 days, the order lays out a discussion of \u201csafety plans\u201d and \u201can emergency shutoff, or \u2018kill switch,\u2019 for frontier models.\u201d<\/p>\n
