WIN Network will restore a full 30-minute WIN News bulletin airing at 5.30pm weekdays later this year.

WIN acquired Nine Darwin in May, which had previously broadcast a locally-produced bulletin until a year earlier.

Andrew Lancaster, CEO, WIN Network, said “As a capital city, Darwin deserves a local television news service on a commercial channel which reflects its people, its priorities and its community.

“We are recruiting journalists and camera operators who will live and work in Darwin, with their feet on the street, building relationships and understanding the stories that matter most to the city and surrounds.

“WIN has a longstanding commitment to local news across regional Australia. Bringing local news back to Nine Darwin builds on that commitment and represents a long-term investment in the community.”

WIN Darwin Manager Steven Shervill said, “WIN already sponsors 48 events and organisations in Darwin, supporting the people who help our city thrive.

“Through those partnerships, we see the energy, generosity and pride that make Darwin special. Bringing local news back gives us another way to contribute, highlighting local achievements, exploring challenges and giving community voices a wider platform.

“We’re excited to extend our support for Darwin and give viewers a local bulletin they can make part of their weekday routine.”

The bulletin is due to commence later this year with Tipping Point moving to 4.30pm weekdays.

“As a capital city, Darwin deserves a local television news service on a commercial channel,” says CEO Andrew…

[29
156,111,139,69,437
post-627847","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tv","tag-entertainment","tag-new-zealand","tag-newzealand","tag-nz","tag-tv
["GET
