Older generations have experienced steeper declines. The 16 Pro Max, released two years ago at VND35 million, was listed at an average of VND21.7 million. The 16 Pro, originally priced from VND29 million, recorded a steeper decline of 39.2%.

The standard 16 and 16 Plus recorded declines of approximately 42%, with average secondhand prices falling to VND13.38 million and VND15.16 million.

Secondhand prices for the three-year-old 15 series fell by around half from their launch prices, with the Pro Max averaging VND15.6 million.

Older models were considerably cheaper, with used 12, 13 and 14 devices listed for VND4-8 million, putting them in the same price range as budget Android smartphones. The X, released in 2017, was still being advertised for around VND2 million.

Cho Tot’s data indicates that iPhones generally experience their steepest depreciation during their first few years before the rate of decline slows. They remain prominent in Vietnam’s secondhand smartphone market, with stronger resale activity and better value retention than many competing Android models, particularly premium devices.

The 256GB model, launched at VND35 million in September 2025, was listed at an average of VND26.77 million…

[16
342,111,139,69,145,308303
post-628149","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mobile","tag-mobile","tag-new-zealand","tag-newzealand","tag-nz","tag-technology","tag-worlds-third-best-selling-smartphone-loses-nearly-24-of-resale-value-after-one-year-vnexpress-international
["GET
