\u201cIt was funny … the owners were like, \u2018come here, come here\u2019, and he just was like, \u2018no, I\u2019m going home\u2019.\u201d <\/p>\n
She said the pig had been a local character for years, often attracting attention during his outings.<\/p>\n
\u201cLots of people in Christchurch know about Pumba, but I just so happened to catch him going across the pedestrian crossing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bateman shared the footage on the couple\u2019s home-renovation and lifestyle Instagram account Get Hammered, where she said it was going viral.<\/p>\n
A Christchurch City Council spokesperson said it did not receive any reports about a pig on Sunday. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand the pig is a local who has, on occasion, been known to make its way to the beach for a spot of sunbathing,\u201d the spokesperson said in a statement.<\/p>\n
