{"id":62985,"date":"2025-10-07T03:07:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T03:07:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/62985\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T03:07:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T03:07:08","slug":"man-charged-with-murder-after-death-in-aucklands-new-lynn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/62985\/","title":{"rendered":"Man charged with murder after death in Auckland&#8217;s New Lynn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A person has been charged with murder after the death of a man in Auckland&#8217;s New Lynn on Monday. <\/p>\n<p>Emergency services were called to a property on Kaponga Crescent at around 11.52am after receiving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1news.co.nz\/2025\/10\/06\/homicide-inquiry-after-man-found-injured-dies-in-aucklands-new-lynn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reports a person was injured<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>The man died at the scene.  <\/p>\n<p>A 28-year-old man was arrested and today police said he had been charged with murder.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Detective Inspector Simon Harrison said: &#8220;We are pleased to have been able to charge someone in relation to this tragic incident.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The man appeared in the Wait\u0101kere District Court and was remanded in custody to appear in the Auckland High Court on October 22.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter,&#8221; Harrison said. <\/p>\n<p>A scene examination was continuing.
