Franchise co-creator Masaki Tsuzuki<\/a>\u00a0is credited as the new anime’s original story creator and scriptwriter. Takayuki Hamana<\/a>\u00a0is returning from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection<\/a> and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation<\/a> to direct at Seven Arcs<\/a>. Issei Aragaki<\/a>\u00a0(Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation, Extreme Hearts<\/a>, Vladlove<\/a>) is\u00a0serving as both character designer and chief animation director, and Sh\u016bichi Kawakami<\/a> is credited for the original character designs.<\/p>\n

In addition to the new anime, the manga Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS<\/a> launched on Kodansha<\/a>‘s Suiy\u014dbi no Sirius<\/a> (Wednesday Sirius) service on April 16.\u00a0It adds new chapters on the first and third Wednesdays of every month.\u00a0The key visual in right teases the story, “Nanoha Takamachi is 13 years old. She is working energetically even today as a mage to help anyone.”<\/p>\n

Franchise creator and writer Masaki Tsuzuki\u00a0is drafting the original story concept for the manga, and Sh\u016bichi Kawakami (Extreme Hearts\u00a0original character designs, art for pop-up Lyrical Store, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha innocent game and manga) is drawing the art.<\/p>\n

The franchise’s 20th anniversary projects also includes Lyrical Selection<\/a> or Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha 20th Anniversary Selection,\u00a0a television edit version of the franchise’s Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st<\/a> and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 2nd A’s<\/a> anime films,\u00a0which began airing in October 2024.<\/p>\n

The 2010 film\u00a0Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st\u00a0is a alternate retelling of the original 2004\u00a0Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha\u00a0television anime. Similarly, the 2012 film\u00a0Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 2nd A’s\u00a0is a retelling of the 2005\u00a0Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s<\/a>\u00a0sequel anime.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha\u00a0franchise\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0a new project in January 2020, but did not specify the format or medium of the new project. Since then, franchise creator and writer\u00a0Masaki Tsuzuki\u00a0penned the\u00a0Extreme Hearts\u00a0original\u00a0anime<\/a>, which premiered in July 2022.\u00a0Crunchyroll<\/a> streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.<\/p>\n

Writer\u00a0Masaki Tsuzuki, director Akiyuki Simbo<\/a>,\u00a0and the studio Seven Arcs\u00a0launched the franchise in 2004 with the 13-episode Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha\u00a0television anime. Four more television anime series followed, culminating with Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid<\/a>\u00a0in 2015 and the spinoff ViVid Strike!<\/a>\u00a0in 2016. Two movies,\u00a0Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st\u00a0and\u00a0Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 2nd A’s, adapted the first two television series in 2010 and 2012. Two more\u00a0films<\/a>, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation,\u00a0followed<\/a>\u00a0in 2017 and 2018.\u00a0Discotek Media<\/a> released both films on Blu-ray Disc in August and September 2023. The franchise also spawned several manga, novels, and drama CDs.<\/p>\n
