This year has been a particularly special one for the Chanel ambassador. In April, she went public<\/a> with a new relationship, joining French novelist Nicolas Mathiew for two days of tennis at the Monte Carlo Country Club Roquebrune-Cap-Martin for the Monte Carlo Masters. This might have been the couple\u2019s public debut, but they had already been dating for two years after Charlotte separated from her husband, Dimitri Rassam, with whom she welcomed son, Balthazar.<\/p>\n The ultimate renaissance royal, Charlotte has also spent the year celebrating the release of her debut solo book. Titled La f\u00ealure, or \u2018The Crack\u2019, the book combines Charlotte\u2019s literary and philosophical passions and takes its inspiration from a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, with Charlotte reflecting on the works of a number of female writers, namely, Ingeborg Bachmann, Colette, Marguerite Duras, and Anna Akhmatova \u2013 all of whom have been a great influence on her academic career. \u2018This book is not a treatise, nor a narrative, and even less a confession,\u2019 summarises the publisher. \u2018It should rather been seen as a journey, a series of variations on the same theme, a refrain that constantly replays a fixed idea: something in us is broken, so much the better.\u2019<\/p>\n Charlotte Casiraghi has been celebrating the publication of her literary solo debut, La f\u00ealure, this year<\/p>\n Instagram @editions_julliard<\/p>\n While this is the first solo literary endeavour from Charlotte Casiraghi, it is by no means the royal\u2019s first foray into the world of academia. After graduating from the Paris<\/a>-Sorbonne University<\/a> in 2007, she studied philosophy at the Sciences Po Doctoral School and the Catholic University of Paris. In 2015, she founded a philosophical think tank in Monaco<\/a> alongside her teacher, Robert Maggiori, as well as Joseph Cohen and Raphael Zagury-Orly.
