<\/a><\/p>\nFor the uninitiated, Blue Eye Samurai is Netflix’s gloriously bloody animated revenge drama set in 17th century Japan. It follows Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine), a swordmaster whose distinctive blue eyes make her an outcast. Disguised as a man and armed with a frankly inspiring talent for slicing and dicing her foes, Mizu embarks on a quest to hunt down the four white men who were illegally living in Japan at the time of her birth in an attempt to find her father. The first season ended with Mizu setting sail for London to continue her search, and we’ll get to see what she finds in the city in season 2. I think we can safely assume it’s not all going to be cups of tea and crumpets. <\/p>\n
Created by Michael Green (his other works includes Logan and Blade Runner 2049) and Amber Noizumi, the series debuted in November 2023 and went on to grab an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, which is a respectable achievement for a show featuring so many severed limbs.<\/p>\n
Season 2 will arrive on Netflix in January 2027. A third and final season is planned for 2028, marking an end to Mizu’s journey. <\/p>\n
