{"id":631469,"date":"2026-10-15T14:54:16","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T14:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/631469\/"},"modified":"2026-10-15T14:54:16","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T14:54:16","slug":"youtube-music-to-label-ai-generated-tracks-using-its-own-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/631469\/","title":{"rendered":"YouTube Music to label AI-generated tracks using its own system"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YouTube Music is the latest of the big streaming services to reveal how it plans to label AI-generated music. <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.youtube\/news-and-events\/youtube-music-ai-labels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Its labels went live yesterday<\/a> (14 October) for songs \u201ccreated primarily using generative AI\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor example, this includes using a generative model to create the composition and vocals. These new music labels will also expand to the main YouTube app,\u201d noted YouTube Music\u2019s blog post.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The label takes the form of an \u2018AI\u2019 button that can be tapped to pop up more information about how a song was made.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re teaming up with music partners and using our own detection tools to identify AI-generated tracks, applying the same labeling principles already used across YouTube,\u201d explained the post.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What this means, however, is that YouTube \u2013\u00a0like Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer \u2013\u00a0is not using <a href=\"https:\/\/musically.com\/2026\/07\/10\/music-industry-bodies-reveal-plans-for-ai-music-labelling-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the system of labels proposed by a group of music-industry bodies in July.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With three of the four biggest DSPs choosing their own labelling systems, it\u2019s hard to see a way forward for the industry\u2019s preferred system.
