{"id":631593,"date":"2026-10-15T17:32:13","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T17:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/631593\/"},"modified":"2026-10-15T17:32:13","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T17:32:13","slug":"camhs-nhs-trusts-mental-health-service-improves-cqc-rating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/631593\/","title":{"rendered":"CAMHS: NHS trust&#8217;s mental health service improves CQC rating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">An NHS mental health service which was told it required improvement by a watchdog has now been rated as &#8220;good&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Care Quality Commission (CQC) visited Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) to inspect its specialist mental health service in June after it found breaches in regulations in 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">According to a report, the breaches within the AWP&#8217;s child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) in 2021 included risk assessments, waiting lists, safe staffing levels and environmental.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">However the healthcare watchdog confirmed earlier the AWP&#8217;s CAMHS is no longer in breach of the regulations, and upgraded the service to good.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The CQC added that AWP&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c1mg348g9gdo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">overall rating<\/a> remains requires improvement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">AWP runs mental health services in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">CAMHS provides assessment, advice and treatment for children and young people with severe and complex mental health problems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Sarah Jones, chief nursing and quality officer at AWP, said the trust will &#8220;continue to build the progress on recent years&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An NHS mental health service which was told it required improvement by a watchdog has now been rated&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":631594,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[35],"tags":[134,554,555,111,139,69],"class_list":["post-631593","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mental-health","tag-health","tag-mental-health","tag-mentalhealth","tag-new-zealand","tag-newzealand","tag-nz"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/631593","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=631593"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/631593\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/631594"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=631593"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=631593"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=631593"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
