{"id":632191,"date":"2026-10-16T07:42:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-16T07:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/632191\/"},"modified":"2026-10-16T07:42:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-16T07:42:09","slug":"google-warns-suspected-china-linked-hackers-could-exploit-beyondtrust-flaw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/632191\/","title":{"rendered":"Google warns suspected China-linked hackers could exploit BeyondTrust flaw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google warned on Thursday that organisations should prepare for \u201cpotential widespread exploitation\u201d after a new bug was found in US cybersecurity firm BeyondTrust\u2019s remote support appliances.<\/p>\n<p>Successful exploitation of the vulnerability gives attackers access to credentials, allows them to arbitrarily upload files and assume control of the host, according to Google Threat Intelligence Group and Mandiant.<\/p>\n<p>A suspected China-linked hacking group, known as Armory Castle, had exploited the then-unknown vulnerability in August, a post on Google\u2019s blog said.
