U2<\/a> have shared another new single, \u2018The Greatest Show On Earth\u2019, and announced the first dates of their 2027 world tour. Listen and find all the details below.<\/p>\n

The epic track is the latest preview of the Irish band\u2019s 16th studio album, \u2018Carnaval De Luz\u2019<\/a>, which is released on November 13.<\/p>\n

Co-written by U2 and Brian Eno<\/a>, the song is described as \u201ca story of lovers fighting to keep faith in each other \u2013 and faith itself\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cLove is a business that works at night\/ I sold myself for less than was right\/ You taught me what I was worth\/ In the greatest show on earth,\u201d Bono<\/a> sings towards the end of the expansive single, boasting towering guitar work from The Edge. \u201cMade a profession out of breaking your heart\/ You call it lies, I call it art\/ I was some of your best work\/ We were once the greatest show on earth\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

He adds: \u201cThe light scatters things can get worse\/ These dark matters of the universe\/ Could not compete with us\/ We were once the greatest show on earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018The Greatest Show On Earth\u2019 arrives with an official Anton Corbijn-directed video, filmed in the Californian desert. The black-and-white visuals satirise U2 as a masked religious cult where women do all the heavy lifting.<\/p>\n

The track follows on from previous singles \u2018Silencio\u2019<\/a> and \u2018Street Of Dreams\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

U2 have also confirmed the first shows on their 2027 world stadium tour, set to take place in Mexico City, S\u00e3o Paulo and Buenos Aires in February and March. Support at these concerts will come from Beck<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018The Greatest Show On Earth\u2019? Now that\u2019s a throwdown. It\u2019s a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody\u2019s life,\u201d the group explained in a statement. \u201cA bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Thursday October 22 \u2013 you\u2019ll be able to buy yours here<\/a>. Alternatively, U2.com<\/a> subscribers will be able to access a pre-sale at the same time on Monday (October 19).<\/p>\n

Further dates for the UK, Europe and North America are due to be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release. U2\u2019s upcoming live return to Ireland is currently in the works, too.<\/p>\n

The forthcoming tour will mark the group\u2019s first full-scale concerts since they wrapped up their residency at Las Vegas\u2019 Sphere<\/a> in early 2024. Bono and co. revealed last month that they were back in rehearsals for a new stadium tour<\/a>, with drummer Larry Mullen Jr. making his full return to the stage after undergoing surgery.<\/p>\n

NME recently caught the band as they marked their 50th anniversary with two special pop-up performances in Dublin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The closing number of \u2018Carnaval De Luz\u2019, titled \u2018Torn\u2019, serves as Dolly Parton\u2019s last-ever recorded performance<\/a>. Elsewhere on the record, U2 honour the \u201cextraordinary artist\u201d Rosal\u00eda on the song \u2018The Mirror Maker (Rosal\u00eda)\u2019<\/a>. The Spanish singer said\u00a0Bono had reached out to ask for her help with some lyrics while working on the track<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In other news, U2\u00a0have joined forces with\u00a0Jack White\u2018s Third Man Records for a limited edition vinyl version of \u2018Carnaval De Luz\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

U2\u2019s previous album,\u00a0\u2018Songs Of Experience\u2019<\/a>, arrived in 2017. Their collection of reimagined classics,\u00a0\u2018Songs Of Surrender\u2019<\/a>, was then released in 2023.
