What are you supposed to do when your old boss<\/a> releases a memoir in which he claims he never wanted to hire you due to vague concerns about your \u201cpersonal life\u201d?\u00a0Well, if you\u2019re Anna Faris<\/a>, you address it with a simple \u201cYikes.\u201d<\/p>\n On Tuesday, prolific sitcom creator Chuck Lorre released his memoir, creatively titled Sitcom. In it, Lorre wrote about putting together the cast for Mom, which ran from 2013 to 2021. Faris starred as a single mother and recovering addict who forges a new relationship with her own mother (Allison Janney) as they both try to stay sober. According to \u201cPage Six<\/a>,\u201d Lorre wrote in Sitcom that he \u201cwasn\u2019t sure Anna would be appropriate for this kind of material,\u201d despite the fact that she was CBS\u2019s first choice. He ultimately came to the conclusion that \u201csomeone\u2019s personal life is none of my business\u201d and hired Faris.<\/p>\n \u201cAs the years went by, it became apparent that my initial reluctance to hire Anna was, in fact, correct,\u201d Lorre wrote. \u201cAfter six years, she left the show for mysterious reasons that were not mysterious to anyone on the show.\u201d Lorre did not elucidate what those reasons might have been, but did go on to say that the show \u201cfound its true voice\u201d in its final season, the only one without Faris.<\/p>\n On Thursday, Faris addressed Lorre\u2019s comments in an Instagram post, saying that she \u201cdidn\u2019t really see that coming\u201d and \u201cof course it hurts.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cChuck gave me a job I loved, and for seven years I never took a day of it for granted,\u201d Faris wrote. \u201cI\u2019m proud of what we made together, and nothing changes how grateful I am for those people and those years.\u201d<\/p>\n Faris also shared that she has been sober for a year and a half, acknowledging that she was \u201con a show about recovery and then I lived it.\u201d The actress said that she is now \u201chappier than I\u2019ve been in a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf anyone reading this is where I was, I hope that\u2019s useful,\u201d she wrote. \u201cIt gets better. I\u2019m proof.\u201d<\/p>\n Congratulations to Faris on her sobriety and her ability to respond to all of this with grace.
