Swank became a first-time mother in 2023 when she was 48, welcoming twins Aya and Ohm with her husband Philip Schneider, and the actress revealed she was previously scolded by a woman for having children late.<\/p>\n
Swank claimed the unnamed woman told her: \u201cHow dare you? You\u2019re too old.\u201d However, the actress explained the criticism stemmed from the woman\u2019s own personal tragedy of losing her beloved father when she was in her 20s. <\/p>\n
The Oscar-winner said: \u201cI related to it because my dad [has] also passed, but he was one of my favorite people on earth.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought to myself: \u2018Well, I would rather be born and have that person that was my favorite person and experience that than not at all\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
The interview on The Drew Barrymore Show is due to air on October 20.<\/p>\n
Swank confirmed her pregnancy in a fun video featuring herself, Schneider and their 3-year-old twins dancing with glowsticks painted on their bodies and showing off her growing bump with a tiny glowstick-clad baby.<\/p>\n
The actress responded in the comments to a fan who said the news had given her \u201chope\u201d for her own future.<\/p>\n
Swank\u2019s Instagram follower commented: \u201cAt 39 I\u2019m still single and childless. You are literally giving me hope that the life I want could still happen for me. Congratulations to you and your beautiful family.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Oscar-winning star replied: \u201cThank you! It can! I always go by the adage, things happen in their time, not ours, and that has always been the case for me.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut of course trusting that, for me, has always been the hardest part. Wishing you unwavering trust and abundant beauty on your journey!\u201d<\/p>\n
Swank previously revealed the benefit to having her twins later in life is that she gets to be more \u201cpresent\u201d in their lives.<\/p>\n
She told People magazine: \u201cIt just worked out that I had babies this much later in life.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t that I didn\u2019t want them earlier. There were a lot of things that kept that from happening, and so I can really take time to be with them.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like I get a lot of Mother\u2019s Days other than actual Mother\u2019s Day because of being able to be so present with them.\u201d<\/p>\n
