In the open-jet configuration, researchers study helicopter rotors and propellers for eVTOLs\u2014electric aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and landing. For wind power, the center analyzes individual turbines and interactions within a wind farm, including large floating offshore turbines, which are tested using a robotic platform that replicates their movements. Then there are solar-tracking photovoltaic systems and, for over a decade, sports: cycling, running, skiing, skating, luge, and ski jumping.
