This week on Dezeen<\/a>, we reported on the Lion Green Road housing scheme in Croydon winning the Stirling Prize<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Designed by local studio Mary Duggan Architects<\/a> with Ruff Architects, the project was named the UK’s best new building at a ceremony in London.<\/p>\n

Commissioned by Croydon Council, the development contains 157 homes spread across five blocks that are connected by a series of shared green spaces.<\/p>\n

Following the win, we discussed the project and its place within the wider Stirling Prize winners on our podcast<\/a>, Dezeen Weekly.<\/p>\n

\"Tesla\"<\/a>Tesla demonstrated its flying Roadster in Texas<\/a><\/p>\n

This week also saw car brand Tesla unveil its flying Roadster at an event in Texas<\/a>, where the vehicle flipped off a ramp and briefly flew.<\/p>\n

The demonstration used compressed-air thrusters that Tesla claimed will enable it to make the world’s quickest production car.<\/p>\n

\"Apple<\/a>Apple unveiled its HomeView device this week<\/a><\/p>\n

In design news, technology brand Apple unveiled HomeView<\/a>, a device that consolidates the functions of its app products and home-management software into one device.<\/p>\n

The seven-inch screen, which can also stand on a base with an integrated speaker, was designed to function as a centralised location for home controls.<\/p>\n

\"Twelve<\/a>A rammed-earth visitor centre in Australia was one of this week’s most visited projects<\/a><\/p>\n

Popular projects on Dezeen this week include a rammed-earth visitor centre for the Twelve Apostles in Australia<\/a>, a monolithic concrete home in India<\/a> and a cricket pavilion in Dulwich<\/a>.<\/p>\n
