Brazilian thrash\/death metal hybrid Nervosa have been forced to vacate their UK touring with Xentrix. That change in plans comes about in light of their vocalist\/guitarist Prika Amaral\u2018s current health concerns. A separate post shared on her personal account indicated that she has been suffering from widespread rash-like symptoms brought about by allergic reactions, and that she needs to get it properly addressed before the problem worsens.<\/p>\n

If one thing is certain in life is that Nervosa loves the road. We never cancel shows but unfortunately due to health concerns with Prika, we will not be able to make the UK run with Xentrix. Don\u2019t worry; we will be back up and running again extremely soon. The tour in North America is NOT cancel and it will happen. Prika just needs time to get better and she will explain more in her social media. We promise we will make it up to you all!<\/p>\n

\u201cIn October 2024, during our North American tour, I experienced my first episode of cold urticaria (an allergic reaction to cold temperatures). It might sound harmless or even funny, but it really scared me. Right after the tour, I went to see a specialist, a very good doctor, and underwent several tests, but nothing abnormal showed up. I couldn\u2019t continue the investigation because I had more and more tours coming up, and I felt a little more at ease since nothing unusual appeared in my blood tests.<\/p>\n
For a few months, my allergy gave me a bit of a break, and with more tours and other commitments coming up, I kept postponing my follow-up appointment. It\u2019s not just a matter of seeing a doctor. It involves several tests and multiple visits, which require a lot of time. This year, over the past five months, my allergy has gotten worse at an alarming rate. Even sitting in a car with the air conditioning set to 21 \u00b0C can trigger a reaction.<\/p>\n
Other allergies have also started to develop and become much more severe, including reactions to sunlight, sand, dish soap, sweat, sunscreen, and more. One episode was so severe that I had to cancel all my shows for the rest of this year. It happened just one day after an outdoor show on a slightly chilly evening \u2014 not even that cold. My entire body swelled up, and I experienced intense burning and itching all at once. I came very close to going into anaphylactic shock<\/p>\n
During my most recent shows, I was taking antihistamines. I\u2019vetried a long list of different medications, but none of them has been 100% effective. I\u2019ve always put my work first, but I can\u2019t keep doing that when my life is clearly at risk. That\u2019s why I\u2019m coming back to Brazil to undergo a thorough investigation and get the proper treatment.<\/p>\n
Everything is going to be fine, but I need to take at least two months off, and I need to do it now.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m truly sorry to all my fans in the UK and the Netherlands that we\u2019ll have to cancel our shows. But we\u2019ll have some news for you soon, and I can guarantee it\u2019ll be worth the wait.<\/p>\n
To my fans in North America: the tour will definitely happen, and I\u2019ll be ready to get back on stage!<\/p>\n
