The statement comes after close friend George Clooney spoke about the \u201cdevastating\u201d loss of Presley.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at The Albies in London, the 65-year-old actor said: \u201cQuite honestly, it\u2019s one of the most devastating things that\u2019s happened to our family. And their family … as you can imagine.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the worst thing that could ever happen with family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Presley died at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica.<\/p>\n

He was cremated at the Rose Family Funeral Home in California and the family has been planning a \u201csmall\u201d and \u201cprivate\u201d service of remembrance.<\/p>\n

A source told People: \u201cThey\u2019re still deciding…<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to make those decisions when everyone is struggling emotionally. Their priority is to keep it private, without media or paparazzi there.\u201d<\/p>\n

A second source added: \u201c[They are] still figuring out what to do in terms of a memorial.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want to keep it very intimate, but there\u2019s so many people in Presley\u2019s life who loved him; the amount of people that have reached out to attend is high.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe plan right now is somewhere in Malibu because of his love for surfing and the beach.\u201d<\/p>\n

Presley \u2013 who had spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction<\/a> and mental health difficulties \u2013 was found dead at a rehabilitation facility. His official cause of death is pending further investigation. Police are investigating his death as a suspected overdose, but have said there is no indication of foul play.<\/p>\n

Speaking previously about Presley\u2019s death, the Santa Monica Police Department said officers were called to the 1000 block of Berkeley St about 9.35am on Sunday, September 20, following a report of a possible overdose.<\/p>\n

Police said: \u201cUpon arrival, officers located an adult male who was deceased.\u201d<\/p>\n

The department added: \u201cSMPD detectives are investigating the death as a suspected overdose. At this time, there is no indication of foul play. The investigation remains ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner said Presley was pronounced dead by responding paramedics at 9.45am. An examination had been completed, but officials had deferred a ruling on the cause and manner of his death pending additional testing or studies. <\/p>\n
