Stockholm studio Kod Arkitekter<\/a> used bright red-stained cladding to distinguish this fire station<\/a> in Liden, Sweden<\/a>, as a local landmark.<\/p>\n

Its concrete and glue-laminated timber structure is partially sunken into the site, which was selected for its close proximity to a nearby highway that will help ensure “rapid emergency response”.<\/p>\n

Completed by local studio Chyb\u00edk + Kri\u0161tof<\/a>, the 5,650-seat Jihlava Municipal Arena serves as a cultural hub for the city as well as a home for a local ice hockey team \u2013 to which the red colour of the facade also nods.<\/p>\n
