Cindy Crawford has spoken out for the first time following the death of her 27-year-old son Presley Gerber.<\/p>\n

Gerber died on September 20 at a rehabilitation facility of a suspected drug overdose, which is being investigated by the Santa Monica Police Department.<\/p>\n

The Guardian reported an autopsy was performed by the Los Angeles County medical examiner, but it was not clear what drugs contributed to Gerber’s death.<\/p>\n

Crawford released a statement on her social media, saying the family was “beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother”.<\/p>\n

“He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability.”<\/p>\n

The supermodel and actress went on to thank friends, family and fans for their condolences, ending her post by farewelling Gerber.<\/p>\n

“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Til we meet again our sweet boy. We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia.”<\/p>\n

Supermodel Kaia Gerber also spoke about her brother’s death, taking to Instagram to share a video and picture of the siblings as children.<\/p>\n

Gerber’s post included a written statement to her brother, in which she described her grief and admiration for him.<\/p>\n

“You know how much I loved being your sister. It has always been, and will forever be, my favourite thing about myself,” she wrote.<\/p>\n

“I am learning how to love you when I cannot see you. How to tell you something without picking up my phone to call you. How to be your sister in a world that I can’t reach for you in.<\/p>\n

“My best buddy, my great protector, the hardest I’ve ever laughed and the one true love of my life – you lit all my candles and took all of my monsters away.”<\/p>\n

Presley Gerber had modelled since the age of 15, making his runway debut in 2016 for Moschino.<\/p>\n

He also worked with Celine, Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana.<\/p>\n
