<\/p>\nAn IT issue affecting promotional prices at Foodstuffs supermarkets has caused checkout delays at New World stores \u2013 with some customers being overcharged. <\/p>\n
Foodstuffs confirmed the technical issue meant some promotional prices were not being applied correctly at its North Island stores this morning. <\/p>\n
A spokesperson said the issue had since been resolved at Pak’nSAVE and Four Square, but work was continuing to to restore affected promotions at New World.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was a technical issue affecting the application of promotional prices, not a failure of the Club+ loyalty programme,” the spokesperson said. <\/p>\n
“We\u2019re sorry to customers affected and thank them for their patience while we get this sorted. <\/p>\n
“For any customers who have been overcharged, we will refund the full amount paid for the overcharged product in line with our Refund Policy.” <\/p>\n
Foodstuffs said Club+ customers who scanned their card and were overcharged would be contacted and automatically refunded.<\/p>\n
Other customers who believed they had been affected were advised to contact or visit the store where they shopped to arrange a refund.<\/p>\n
Several New World supermarkets confirmed the issue in Facebook posts, saying staff were having to manually scan groceries, resulting in longer-than-usual checkout delays.<\/p>\n

“We really appreciate your patience and understanding as our team works through this,” one store posted.<\/p>\n
“Fingers crossed we’ll be back up and running soon.”<\/p>\n
Several New World stores around the North Island had closed while the issue was being resolved. <\/p>\n
