Riot Games’ virtual girl group K/DA has resumed activities, releasing a new song after approximately six years.

On October 19, Riot Games released K/DA’s new track ‘FIRESTARTER’ along with its official music video. This marks their first new music in about six years since their 2020 EP ‘ALL OUT’, with a new EP of the same name scheduled to drop on the 21st.

Miyeon and Soyeon of (G)I-DLE, who participated in previous K/DA projects, rejoined for the new track. The two have provided vocals for Ahri and Akali, respectively, and are joined this time by new featured artists: Canadian singer Sophie Powers and British singer Mimi Webb.

The music video was produced in collaboration with French animation studio Fortiche. Fortiche is the studio behind the Netflix animated series ‘Arcane’ and previously created the music video for K/DA’s 2018 debut single, ‘POP/STARS’. Choreographer Sean Bankhead, who has worked with high-profile artists such as Beyoncé and BLACKPINK, directed the video’s choreography.

K/DA is a virtual girl group consisting of League of Legends champions Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, and Kai’Sa. They debuted at the 2018 League of Legends World Championship Finals in Incheon by performing ‘POP/STARS’, and later released ‘THE BADDEST’ and ‘MORE’ in 2020. In November of that year, they released their 5-track EP ‘ALL OUT’, which included those two singles alongside ‘VILLAIN’, ‘DRUM GO DUM’, and ‘I’LL SHOW YOU’.

Following an extended hiatus without new music, K/DA returns after roughly six years with ‘FIRESTARTER’. The new EP ‘FIRESTARTER’, featuring the title track, will be released on the 21st, with pre-saves currently open on their official channels.
