(Image credits: Instagram) 43-year-old actor Charlie Cox<\/a>, who brought the character Daredevil to life, opened up about how his son reacted to the show\u2019s ending. Starring in \u2018Daredevil: Born Again,’ Cox opened up about how he knew that saying goodbye to the character would be hard for him; however, he was left in a state of shock over the reaction his six-year-old son had to the news.<\/p>\n

Charlie Cox on how his son reacted to finding out that \u2018Daredevil: Born Again\u2019 will not come back<\/p>\n

While attending the New York Comic Con earlier this month, Cox opened up about the beloved show\u2019s ending and how he had a hard time dealing with accepting the fact that \u2018Daredevil: Born Again\u2019 is ending. Talking to PEOPLE, he shared that his son also had quite a strong reaction to the entire thing.\u201cI don\u2019t think I am prepared for it. It\u2019s been 12 years of my life. I think it\u2019s very likely that at the end of my career, whenever that is, this character will be the most important to me. I don\u2019t know if you can prepare yourself for that. I\u2019m trying to prepare my son for it more than I\u2019m preparing myself. He\u2019s devastated,” he commented. He also commented on how his son was only just coming to terms with the fact that his father was playing the role of a superhero.He added, \u201cHe\u2019s 6. So he\u2019s just coming on to the \u2018my dad\u2019s a superhero\u2019 kind of stuff. When I told him, the color drained from his face. It didn\u2019t occur to me that he\u2019d be so impacted by it, so it\u2019s very sweet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie Cox on how it feels for him to transition out of the superhero role<\/p>\n

During the interview, he also talked about how the transition and the show\u2019s ending feel for him, adding, \u201cI think it\u2019s going to be weird. But at the moment, I\u2019m just so grateful for the time that we\u2019ve had, all the stories we\u2019ve got to tell, and all the hours and hours. I think I\u2019ve played Daredevil for 70 hours or something crazy. It has been such a gift and the great honor of my career.\u201dHe also talked about how the show changed his life and how he met his wife, Samantha Thomas, on the first day of filming for ‘Daredevil,’ and everything has been going great for them since then. Thompson and Cox have been together for 12 years now. He then concluded, \u201cIt\u2019s been an absolute journey.\u201dCharlie Cox has played Daredevil for 11 years, starting in 2015, when the first OTT series, ‘Daredevil,’ was released.
