Miley Cyrus returned to the stage for a two-night run at the Hollywood Bowl, but her comeback became mired in mess when she extended energy responding to fan criticism. She was bothered by critiques that she wasn\u2019t singing enough<\/a>, that she wasn\u2019t dedicated to fan experience, and that she considered the performances an experiment. \u201cI\u2019ve never heard that I don\u2019t put my heart into something,\u201d she said in a video shared on X<\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t know if any of you heard that somebody was doing commentary to get clickbait on their video talking about my show on Friday night, but I\u2019m a lot of things, and we\u2019re not even going to entertain that.\u201d But entertain it she did. She went on to clarify that \u201cthis is not an experiment of you, this is an experience for me \u2014 you all make the experience possible.\u201d<\/p>\n Even though she\u2019s a household name, Cyrus hasn\u2019t done a full show like this since 2022 and has not been on tour since 2014. The Hollywood Bowl run did include interesting choices: On both nights of the show, Cyrus brought out her fianc\u00e9, Maxx Morando, to help her play \u201cLet\u2019s Get Married\u201d; performed two songs with Flaming Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne; and sang a tribute to her godmother, Dolly Parton<\/a>. But she wasn\u2019t just focused on performing. During her night-two performance of \u201cBass Persuades,\u201d Cyrus said, \u201cOh, I forgot I\u2019m supposed to sing every fucking line!\u201d Maybe it wasn\u2019t a surprise when she admitted that performing is odd for her. \u201cI appreciate each of you guys reaching out and touching me and me getting to feel you. But I do want to say \u2014 it is a lot for me,\u201d she said on night one, per the Los Angeles Times<\/a>. \u201cIt is a little bit overwhelming.\u201d<\/p>\n The audience criticism was so damaging that Cyrus considered not performing the second show. \u201cBefore I came out for [the first song] \u2018Orbit,\u2019 I already told myself I wasn\u2019t going to come onstage, I was going to run away,\u201d she told the crowd. \u201cBut never would I leave you all sitting in these seats unfulfilled from a show. So I can take a lot, but one thing I will not stand is any question about where my heart is when I\u2019m on the stage. I am fully present.\u201d Is she getting ready to be fully present at an even bigger venue?
