\n\tAlexander Skarsg\u00e5rd knows how to make an entrance.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Swedish actor has been turning heads with his wacky red carpet looks while promoting his new fantasy romance \u201cWicker<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the London premiere earlier this month, he donned a metallic gold Saint Laurent suit. If that wasn\u2019t bold enough, he slipped into a pair of clear plastic lace-up shoes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey were surprisingly comfortable, and I was worried that they would steam up in five minutes, but that actually didn\u2019t happen,\u201d Skarsg\u00e5rd told me Saturday at the Academy Museum Gala. \u201cBut I\u2019ve been getting a lot of comments from friends and family about my little piglets sticking out. They make fun of me. They make fun of my feet.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the \u201cWicker\u201d premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Skarsg\u00e5rd wore a multicolored skirt and a whimsical black shirt adorned with his co-star Olivia Colman\u2019s face from London fashion house Chopova Lowena. \u201cWe\u2019ve been on a press tour for a couple of weeks, and now we\u2019re in L.A., and it\u2019s our final big premiere before the movie opens on Friday,\u201d he said. \u201cI wanted to wear something special for this lovely lady over here, Olivia, whom I adore.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for the purple and green skirt, Skarsg\u00e5rd said, \u201cIt\u2019s very comfortable. It\u2019s quite a hot night, and it\u2019s light and breezy. I\u2019m enjoying it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier in the day, he shocked attendees at a SAG-AFTRA screening and Q&A when he arrived in a long gray wig<\/a>. \u201cI got a little jealous because everyone is complimenting Olivia on her beautiful hair and beautiful hair color,\u201d Skarsg\u00e5rd said. \u201cI got no love for my hair. As a narcissistic actor, I need a little bit of attention, so I threw on a beautiful gray wig to match Olivia today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWicker\u201d co-star Elizabeth Debicki praised Skarsg\u00e5rd\u2019s fashion choices. \u201cHe can do no wrong,\u201d she said. \u201cI love the man. What can I say? I\u2019m biased.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn \u201cWicker,\u201d Colman plays an outcast in a medieval town who falls in love with a man made of wicker (Skarsg\u00e5rd). Debicki plays a housewife who burns with jealousy over the attention the townspeople give to Colman and Skarsg\u00e5rd\u2019s characters.<\/p>\n

\n\tSkarsg\u00e5rd\u2019s wicker look was a practical costume created by the W\u0113t\u0101 Workshop in New Zealand, with lead makeup effects artist Sarah Rubano, prosthetic designer Joe Dunckley and lead weaver Jasmin van Lith.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAmazing,\u201d Colman said of seeing Skarsg\u00e5rd in the costume for the first time. \u201cWe\u2019d seen backward and forwards from Weta Workshop in New Zealand images for about 18 months, and so suddenly he puts it on, and we were all going, \u2018Oh God, I hope it works.\u2019 And he came out of the makeup trailer and went, \u2018Oh God, it\u2019s beautiful.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWicker\u201d is in limited release starting Oct. 23 before expanding on Oct. 30.<\/p>\n
