The original manga centers on Sui, a girl in her third year of junior high. She doesn’t really get along with her older sister’s boyfriend, Midori-kun, since he always treats her like a kid and makes fun of her. But Midori-kun is suddenly asked to be Sui’s home tutor, and she suddenly sees an unexpected side of him.<\/p>\n

The film has the English title My Sister’s Boyfriend, and stars timelesz idol group member Masaki Hashimoto (live-action Summer Complicity) as Midori Yukishiro, and actress Runa Nakajima (live-action Uchi no Ot\u014dto-domo ga Sumimasen<\/a>) as Sui Sanae. Rinka Kumada<\/a> \u00a0(live-action Otonanajimi<\/a>, Kimi ni Todoke<\/a>, It Takes More than a Pretty Face to Fall in Love<\/a>) plays Sui’s older sister and Midori’s girlfriend Momo Sanae, and Reo Matsumoto (live-action I Cannot Reach You<\/a>, Propaganda Game) plays Sui’s childhood friend Ayame Mizukawa. Taisuke Niihara (live-action At 25:00 in Akasaka<\/a>, Young & Fine<\/a>) plays Amamiya, a new assistant producer at the same TV station where Sui’s older sister Momo works.<\/p>\n

Mahito Kimura (live-action Strobe Edge<\/a>, Blue Spring Ride<\/a> series) is directing the film, and Nami Kikkawa (live-action Honey Lemon Soda<\/a> film) wrote the script. Shochiku<\/a> is credited for planning and overseeing the production, and is also distributing the film.<\/p>\n

The film will open in Japan on December 4.<\/p>\n

Meguro launched<\/a> the manga in Shueisha<\/a>‘s Bessatsu Margaret<\/a> magazine in 2022. Shueisha published the manga’s 11th compiled book volume on April 23.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meguro ended<\/a> the Hinata no Blue manga in July 2021. Meguro launched<\/a> the manga in Bessatsu Margaret in April 2019.<\/p>\n

Meguro’s Honey So Sweet<\/a> manga ran in Bessatsu Margaret from August 2012 to<\/a> November 2015. Viz Media<\/a>‘s Shojo Beat<\/a> imprint has released<\/a> the eight-volume manga in English. The series was ranked<\/a> as one of Japanese Bookstore Employees’ top recommended comics for 2014. The manga inspired<\/a> a live-action film adaptation that opened in Japan in March 2018.<\/p>\n
