The official X (formerly Twitter<\/a>) account for\u00a0EAT-MAN The Over Order<\/a>, the new anime<\/a> project for Akihito Yoshitomi<\/a>‘s Eat-Man manga, announced on Monday that Yoshitomi will launch a spinoff manga adaptation of the upcoming anime, titled Desert-Dessert From EAT-MAN The Over Order<\/a>. The manga will launch in the January 2027 issue of Kodansha<\/a>‘s Monthly Shonen Sirius<\/a> magazine on November 26.<\/p>\n

Shunji \u014cga<\/a> (Romance of Three Kingdoms<\/a>, several Soreike! Anpanman<\/a> films, Golgo 13<\/a> chief director) is directing the new anime at Studio Cab<\/a>. Original manga creator Yoshitomi is in charge of scripts and original designs, and Satoshi Hirayama<\/a> (Cat’s Eye<\/a> season 2, Lupin III<\/a> specials, Lupin III vs. Detective Conan The Movie<\/a>) will adapt Yoshitomi’s character designs for animation. <\/p>\n

Masashi Ebara<\/a> returns from the two previous anime adaptations as protagonist Bolt Crank.<\/p>\n

Yoshitomi drew his original Eat-Man manga<\/a> from 1996 to 2002. Viz Media<\/a> published part of the original manga in North America. The story follows Bolt Crank, a man who can eat anything and reproduce it in his right hand. The original manga received anime adaptations in 1997 and 1998. Bandai Entertainment<\/a> released Eat-Man ’98<\/a> on DVD with an English dub<\/a>, and Discotek Media<\/a> released<\/a> both anime on subtitle-only DVD. Crunchyroll<\/a> began<\/a> streaming<\/a> both anime in 2019.<\/p>\n

Yoshitomi launched<\/a> the Eat-Man The Main Dish manga<\/a> in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in May 2014. The six-volume manga ended serialization in 2019. <\/p>\n

ADV Manga<\/a> published Yoshitomi’s Ray manga<\/a>, while Section23 Films<\/a> released<\/a> the Ray television anime<\/a> as well as<\/a> the Blue Drop<\/a> anime inspired<\/a> by Yoshitomi’s manga<\/a> of the same name. Yoshitomi also drew<\/a> Cyborg 009 Vs. Devilman<\/a>: Breakdown, the manga adaptation of the Cyborg 009 Vs. Devilman crossover anime. The one compiled volume shipped in April 2016.<\/p>\n
