\n\tWINTER TALES: Prada<\/a>\u2019s antidote to AI slop comes with a cast of young actors, an established photographer \u2014 and a dash of fantasy.<\/p>\n

\n\tKnown for its longstanding ties with the cinema, the brand explored the world of animation for its \u201cDrawing Prada<\/a>\u201d holiday<\/a> 2026 campaign<\/a>, which is to be released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe images mix photography by Glen Luchford<\/a> with the hand-drawn illustrations created by artists led by John Pomeroy, a legendary cinematic animator whose eye has helped define some of the key productions of the past 50 years as he was involved in productions spanning from \u201cWinnie the Pooh and Tigger Too\u201d to \u201cPocahontas\u201d and \u201cFantasia 2000,\u201d to cite a few.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the campaign, an international cast of young actors is seen immersed in animated winter wonderlands and interacting with the fantasy creatures originated from Pomeroy\u2019s pencil for the occasion. The acting talents include \u201cStanger Things\u201d costars Maya Hawke<\/a> and Sadie Sink<\/a>; Chinese singer and actor Chen Haoyu<\/a> \u2014 also known as Amy Chen \u2014 as well as Kelvin Harrison Jr.<\/a> and Luther Ford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tFlanking the still images, filmic shorts amplify the whimsical spirit of the campaign, blending real-life action with illustrated animation in spotlighting the brand\u2019s accessories offering for the season. For example, a cynical fox character follows Hawke in the snow; little mice steal Sink\u2019s Prada shoes; a snow lynx goes after Haoyu\u2019s Prada bag while rabbits and bats play with Ford\u2019s leather accessories.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was an absolute honor to have Prada ask me to direct this series of 2D animated films for their 2026 holiday campaign,\u201d said Pomeroy, who served as animation director of the project. \u201cThe merging of our two art forms took our combined creativity to the next level. It also advances the legacy of classic hand-drawn animation for many generations to enjoy. It was a blessing to with work with such an amazing crew of experienced and dedicated artists and administrators that made this vision come to life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA behind-the-scenes video was additionally realized to further spotlight the choral effort and the hand techniques behind the crafty execution.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s a very distinct and purposeful reason to do hand-drawn animation, and that\u2019s to see that there\u2019s value in it and that hand-drawn and handcrafted work is still alive in the world today,\u201d Pomeroy said in the clip. \u201cI learned my craft with pencil and paper\u2026.We\u2019ve stuck to that, and we want to carry that forward into future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n
