Yes, you read that right. The director of \u2018Biwi Ho Toh Aisi\u2019 revealed that when he cast Salman Khan, he wasn\u2019t aware he was a popular writer, Salim Khan\u2019s son. He even added that if Salman had dropped his father\u2019s name, the director might not have given him the part. Read on to know why.<\/p>\n

While speaking to Siddharth Kannan, JK Bihari talked about casting Salman Khan for the supporting role in ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’. He said that while the entire cast was locked, he was still looking for a boy to play the lead hero\u2019s brother, and that is when he spotted Salman Khan. The director was sitting in his garage, and he saw Salman walking by, and right then and there, he knew he had found his actor. However, he didn\u2019t know he was the son of \u2018Sholay\u2019 fame writer Salim Khan, or he would not have cast him in the movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came and talked to me, and I said yes. He couldn\u2019t believe it. He didn\u2019t take his father\u2019s name. Had he done that, I might not have cast him,\u201d he said. When asked why, he replied, \u201cSalim Khan was such a big writer and the role was quite small. It wasn\u2019t a hero\u2019s role,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI learnt later that he is Salim Khan\u2019s son. He called me over to meet him. I thought that now that he knows the role, he might refuse it. But he didn\u2019t do that. Salim Khan said You are a new director, he is also new,\u201d added Bihari.The filmmaker further shared that Salman Khan was so passionate about getting a break that he signed a three-movie deal with the producers at a very minimal price.
