LA-based Dynamic Television (Drops of Gold) has partnered with Sky New Zealand and funding body NZ On Air to launch a scripted development initiative to support up to three New Zealand drama series.

""

The Aotearoa Scripted Series Initiative offers funding of up to NZ$75,000 (US$42,000) per project, or up to NZ$225,000 in total, with equal financial contributions from the three partners.

The ambition is to help writers and producers shape distinctive drama series with potential global appeal. Applications open on November 6, with guidelines and information available at www.nzonair.govt.nz.

It builds on Dynamic Television’s existing relationship with NZ On Air. In August, the funding body committed NZ$8m to four scripted projects in its latest round of funding, including a second season of Ms X, the crime drama series distributed by Dynamic.

Dan March, founder and managing partner at Dynamic Television, said: “Our experience on Ms X proved just how exceptional New Zealand’s creative community is. We are thrilled to partner with Sky and NZ On Air to build on that momentum – nurturing world-class talent and developing original stories designed to resonate with global audiences.”

Cameron Harland, CEO at NZ On Air, added: “Our strongest stories are the ones that could only come from Aotearoa. This initiative gives local writers and producers a local broadcast home through Sky, and international development and distribution expertise through Dynamic Television, so that distinctive New Zealand drama has a stronger pathway to reach audiences here and offshore.”

LA-based Dynamic Television (Drops of Gold) has partnered with Sky New Zealand and funding body NZ On Air…

[2
111,43,139,69
post-645765","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-new-zealand","tag-new-zealand","tag-news","tag-newzealand","tag-nz
["GET
