Spider-Man’s long-time love had finally become a superhero for the first time a few years back when she used a powerful pair of gauntlets developed by her boyfriend of the time, Paul Rabin, to become the superhero known as Jackpot.

Eventually, the gauntlets began to malfunction, and that all came to a head in the Venom War, when Mary Jane found herself molecularly bonded on a cellular level with the Venom symbiote (so it wasn’t a case of her just deciding to bond with it or not). She became the All-New Venom, but during the recent Queen in Black crossover event, Mary Jane was split from the symbiote, and it returned to its former bond with Eddie Brock.

So, after being a superhero for a few years, Mary Jane is ready for the next stage of her life, and that next step is revealed in the preview for this week’s Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane #1.

FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD MARY JANE #1 (OF 5)

ASHLEY ALLEN (W)

PHIL NOTO (A)

COVER A BY J. She quickly reflects on her life, including the fact that she had so much trauma in her family life growing up that she became so adept at masking her true feelings that she became a really good actor, which influenced her later acting career. She also thinks back to how being with Peter Parker drew her into the world of Spider-Man, but how she had embraced the role of Venom, as well.

When meeting with Flash, Mary Jane has to acknowledge that Venom DID leave a little bit ot itself behind in the form of “Fang,” a little piece of Venom that Mary Jane is bonded to which allows her to utilize SOME of Venom’s abilities (mostly like a web that she can make do things for her, like grab stuff, or block stuff).

She reveals to Flash that she wants to start her own production company, and her first project will be an Off-Broadway play. Flash is interested, but he also recalls that Mary Jane has started a LOT of projects over the years, and she tends to run away eventually. She argues otherwise, but that’s right when Stilt-Man attacks, and you’re just going to have to pick up a copy of Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane #1 this week to find out what happens after THAT!

With the return of Eddie Brock as Venom, that has, naturally, left Mary Jane Watson a bit adrift.…

[27
156,409,111,139,69
post-648977","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-movies","tag-entertainment","tag-movies","tag-new-zealand","tag-newzealand","tag-nz
["GET
