Free speech<\/a> may be in jeopardy and federal agents<\/a> are pulling children from their homes<\/a>, but The Dude<\/a> continues to abide. <\/p>\n

Jeff Bridges<\/a> brought back his famous \u201cBig Lebowski<\/a>\u201d character by request on the latest installment of \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a>\u201d <\/p>\n

The Oscar winner was on the show to promote his upcoming movie \u201cTron: Ares<\/a>,” in theaters Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in such a troubled time, I think, is a good way to say it,\u201d Kimmel said on Tuesday night\u2019s show. \u201cPeople are getting crazier every day and I wonder if you could perhaps summon The Dude to share some words of wisdom tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bridges obliged.<\/p>\n

With that, Kimmel supplied the requisite sunglasses and cozy cardigan while Kimmel sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez brought the pair White Russian<\/a> cocktails. <\/p>\n

Bridges, who referred to the drink as a \u201cCaucasian<\/a>,\u201d opted to go without the shades for his message to the audience.<\/p>\n

He originated the cherished Dude<\/a> character in the 1998 Coen brothers movie \u201cThe Big Lebowski<\/a>,\u201d starring as Jeffrey \u201cThe Dude\u201d Lebowski<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey world, The Dude here,\u201d Bridges said (watch clip below). \u201cSo, uh, yeah, man. Can we just all calm the f— down? I mean, c\u2019mon. I\u2019m talking about, you know, all the wars, the fighting, the canceling. I mean, let\u2019s just chill out, man. C\u2019mon, tone it down.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re, like, at what? A nine?\u201d he continued. \u201cWe ought to be at zero. Or zero and a half at max. Right, Guillermo?\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodriguez held his own White Russian up for a toast while wearing the same cardigan and shades.<\/p>\n

\u201cICE??\u201d Bridges\u2019 Dude said. \u201cLet\u2019s get ICE off our streets and into our beverages, man.\u201d <\/p>\n

The sentiment about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement<\/a> drew loud cheers from the crowd as Bridges took a sip of his movie-inspired drink. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis aggression will not stand<\/a>,\u201d he said, quoting his character. \u201cRight?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cRight,\u201d Kimmel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo let\u2019s just abide,\u201d said Bridges, 75. \u201cAbide together. Yes, we can do this. Now, that\u2019s just, like, my opinion<\/a>, but it\u2019s a good one, don\u2019t you think, Jimmy?”<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a pretty great opinion,\u201d the host said.<\/p>\n

Kimmel and \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>!\u201d recently returned to ABC<\/a> after being \u201cindefinitely\u201d suspended for his comments in the wake of Charlie Kirk\u2019s death. <\/p>\n

ABC and parent company Disney permitted his return after several days during which viewers protested the decision by canceling their Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kimmel returned to late-night following statements from comedians<\/a>, actors and celebrities who condemned<\/a> the network\u2019s move against him as an assault on free speech<\/a>. <\/p>\n
