Japanese astronaut Yui Kimiya has shared photographs of a very strong typhoon that is approaching Japan taken from the International Space Station.<\/p>\n
The space station, where Yui is on a mission, orbits Earth at an altitude of about 400 kilometers. Yui posted the photos of Typhoon Halong on X sometime after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Japan time.<\/p>\n
One of them shows a robotic arm with the typhoon’s massive swirl of clouds visible in the background.<\/p>\n
Yui said he took the pictures because he felt compelled to share the latest information on the typhoon. He noted the typhoon appeared to be gaining strength in a short time.<\/p>\n
Yui also commented that peering into the eye of the storm gave him the eerie feeling that if such a thing as a dragon’s nest existed, it might be in a place like this.<\/p>\n
