Police say two people in northern Auckland who were trapped on a cliff have now been rescued.<\/p>\n
The pair had gone down the Tindall’s Beach cliff in Whangaparaoa to retrieve something they’d dropped – but couldn’t get back up and had to be rescued by emergency services.<\/p>\n
A rescue operation was launched and the Eagle helicopter monitored their location and neither person was injured.<\/p>\n
“FENZ are currently undergoing procedures to bring both people back up and onto flat land,” a spokesperson earlier said.<\/p>\n

A specialist lines crew arrived from central Auckland to assist with the rescue effort. The crew can use ropes to scale cliff faces if needed, said FENZ.<\/p>\n
St John ambulance said it had an ambulance, an operations manager and a rapid response unit on standby at the scene.<\/p>\n
