There’s nothing like a software update to make things feel fresh. Supported devices will often see smaller updates throughout the year, but will get one big one, delivering new major features, and sometimes, even a new look. That big update is now finally arriving on the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 with the introduction of Wear OS 6<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3<\/a> owners can now head into the Settings menu to download the new update, which will introduce Material 3 Expressive, along with other new features as well. It’s an exciting update that’s well worth taking the time to download. For now, original Pixel Watch owners will have to be patient, as Wear OS 6 is not available yet. <\/p>\n

A worthy update<\/p>\n

The news comes from 9to5Google<\/a>, sharing that the update also delivers some additional visual changes as well, like a new lockscreen and Quick Settings menu. In addition, users should also see new notifications alerts, and will have access to Dynamic Color, which will properly theme elements of the experience to match each other. <\/p>\n

It’s a great way to make everything look seamless without having to go through the trouble of customizing every single detail. The watch will also now have updated app icons, which is a nice touch, since these are elements of the OS that people look at nearly every day. Overall, it’s a great way to make older watches feel fresh. <\/p>\n

While the update should arrive in time, if you want to force it, you can always head into the Settings menu and tap the System updates option to get it started. Wear OS 6 is one of the more exciting updates to come to Google’s wearable in quite some time. <\/p>\n

The only unfortunate part is that this will most likely be the last update for the original Pixel Watch when it lands. The Pixel Watch 2 will have at least one more year of updates left, while the Pixel Watch 3 will have two. Google has committed to three years of updates<\/a> for its watches. <\/p>\n
