Today, Jess and Mike discuss episode 3 of The Amazing Race 38.<\/p>\n

The race wrapped up its stay in the Czech Republic with stops like Ka Hora, featuring agrarian challenges with beer, barley, straw, and hockey. The Turners were eliminated after finishing last for the third time.<\/p>\n

The big story was the return of the Driver\u2019s Seat, where the top three teams formed a rare alliance to assign tasks\u2014leveraging strategy in a way rarely seen on TAR. Natalie and Stephanie gained power, directing heavier burdens to rivals while helping allies with old-school \u201cMapQuest-style\u201d directions. This raised debate about whether teamwork crossed into breaking the spirit of the race.<\/p>\n

Natalie & Stephanie: 1st, winning $2,500 and emerging as front-runners.
\nJass & Jag: 2nd, intentionally holding back to avoid being targets.
\nTucker & Eric: 3rd, rebounded despite major hockey struggles.
\nJoseph & Adam: 4th, entertaining chaos with lost keys and beer mishaps.
\nHannah & Simone: 5th, adding comic relief and Czech language attempts.
\nRebina & Christine: 7th, detoured early but recovered.
\nKylind & Taylor: 9th, contrasting communication styles on display.
\nCat & Alex: 10th, lovable chaos at the bottom.
\nThe Turners: Eliminated after a misdirected detour and Megan\u2019s rib injury.<\/p>\n

What Mike and Jessica Said<\/p>\n

They were thrilled about the return of the Driver\u2019s Seat, calling it \u201ca literal tribunal\u201d and noting it finally delivered on Phil\u2019s promise of more strategy this season. They compared it to Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains for how alliances were used.
\nThey joked about the \u201cMapQuest\u201d\u2013style printed directions teams shared, debating whether that broke the spirit of the race and even whether trailing teams could legally grab them.
\nThey praised Natalie & Stephanie, saying Stephanie in particular looked like a season favorite, and were impressed by Natalie scoring \u201cfive-hole\u201d in the hockey Roadblock.
\nThey laughed at Adam & Joseph\u2019s chaos (beer pouring struggles, lost car keys) and speculated the edit was setting them up for a deep run because of all the personal backstory.
\nThey teased Jass & Jag\u2019s strategy, saying they \u201cliterally threw the comp\u201d like Big Brother players to avoid being seen as too dominant.
\nThey enjoyed Hannah\u2019s comic relief and her attempts at Czech, calling it fun \u201csound bite energy.\u201d
\nThey found Rebina & Christine\u2019s pit stop misfire hilarious, noting it was somehow survivable thanks to how stratified the leg was.
\nThey admitted they want Cat & Alex to stick around despite being bad racers\u2014just for the entertainment factor.
\nThey were sympathetic toward the Turners\u2019 elimination, especially Megan\u2019s rib injury, while noting the irony that it was their \u201cbest leg\u201d before getting misdirected.
\nLooking ahead, they were excited for Budapest, praising the Rubik\u2019s cube Fast Forward as \u201cbrilliant game design\u201d because it wouldn\u2019t just reward arriving first.<\/p>\n
