Google designed the Pixel Watch 4 to be serviceable<\/a> (or repairable) and an iFixit teardown<\/a> today shows how easy it is to do so.<\/p>\n In all, you just need three screwdriver bits (1IP, 2IP, and 5IP), a spudger, and tweezers. Access into the Pixel Watch 4 starts by removing each Band to access a screw underneath. A tiny O-ring gasket underneath provides water resistance.\u00a0There is a clever hinge mechanism that seals the rear plate when the screw is tightened.<\/p>\n Source (all): iFixit<\/p>\n You can now lift the back sensor glass, which is still connected to the rest of the device by a ZIF connector. However, you technically do not have to disconnect that to remove the screws (four in total) holding down the vibration motor and battery.\u00a0<\/p>\n \tAdvertisement – scroll for more content<\/p>\n The battery is now encased in a metal container after previously being in a pouch.\u00a0<\/p>\n Removing the screen involves two more screws for the screen cable bracket, and then four additional ones for the display.\u00a0<\/p>\n The screen is sealed with another O-ring in a mechanism similar to mechanical watches. There is no adhesive, and that is everything that can be replaced with official parts.<\/p>\n The iFixit teardown goes on to show how you remove the Pixel Watch 4\u2019s logic board, if needed.
