{"id":70436,"date":"2025-10-10T17:56:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T17:56:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/70436\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T17:56:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T17:56:09","slug":"no-sign-of-a-slowdown-in-saskatchewan-as-housing-market-keeps-rumbling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/70436\/","title":{"rendered":"No sign of a slowdown in Saskatchewan as housing market keeps rumbling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In other markets, momentum has swung in favour of buyers, who now have greater negotiating power because of falling competition.<\/p>\n<p>Saskatchewan, though, is experiencing the opposite. \u201cWe\u2019re still seeing an absolute lack of inventory and lots of clients sitting preapproved, waiting in specific areas,\u201d Shawna MacDonald (pictured top), a Saskatoon-based mortgage broker with The Mortgage Associates, told Canadian Mortgage Professional.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of sellers are listing their houses under market value to drum up interest, according to MacDonald, and then allowing prospective buyers to compete on offers. \u201cThat\u2019s really driving up the housing market and increasing price points,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause all of those are going for much over asking price.
