Sad news for fans of the series Yellowjackets<\/a>!<\/p>\n

It was just announced on Friday night (October 10) that the Showtime<\/a> series is set to come to an end after four seasons, according to Variety<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cAfter three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we\u2019re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season,\u201d series creators and co-showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, shared in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019ve always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it\u2019s our belief that our job \u2014 our responsibility \u2014 is to listen. Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us, and we\u2019re so very grateful to the brilliant cast, crew and writers who have bravely gone on the journey with us to bring it to life. Yellowjackets was renewed for a fourth season<\/a> back in May, and Variety reports the writers room is now open, with a tentative 2026 premiere. <\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a synopsis: Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they\u2019ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.<\/p>\n
