It\u2019s been over two decades since Shannon Elizabeth<\/a> played Nadia in American Pie <\/a>\u2014 but the actress and activist just reminded fans she hasn\u2019t aged one bit.<\/p>\n

In a new Instagram video, the 52-year-old kept things casual in a baseball cap, her brunette hair worn down, as she announced an appearance at Comic Con<\/a> in Scotland. Despite the laid-back look, Shannon looked effortlessly radiant, and her followers definitely took notice.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are fine as wine, Shannon,\u201d one fan commented. Others chimed in with praises like, \u201cStill absolutely stunning\u201d and \u201cGorgeous.\u201d<\/p>\n

The appearance marks a rare public outing for the Scary Movie<\/a> and Love Actually actress, who\u2019s stayed mostly out of the spotlight in recent years, by choice.<\/p>\n

Shannon rose to fame in the late \u201890s for her performance as Nadia, the foreign exchange student in American Pie (1999). Her character\u2019s thick Eastern European accent became a signature part of the film, though Shannon later revealed it wasn\u2019t all smooth sailing behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

In a 2023 episode of the \u201cInside of You with Michael Rosenbaum<\/a>\u201d podcast, Shannon opened up about the challenges she faced during post-production.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I did American Pie, they called me in to do ADR,\u201d she explained. \u201cThey were like, \u2018We\u2019re gonna play with the accent.\u2019 So, I\u2019d say something and then they\u2019d go, \u2018Ok, do less of an accent.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Why are they messing with this accent so much?\u2019 I had worked really hard with a dialect coach on this.\u201d<\/p>\n

She admitted the changes left her \u201cdevastated,\u201d feeling the final version didn\u2019t reflect her original performance.<\/p>\n

Even with the behind-the-scenes challenges, American Pie became a pop culture phenomenon that helped make Shannon a household name. She later appeared in American Pie 2,American Reunion and hit comedies like Scary Movie and TV shows including That \u201970s Show.<\/p>\n

While many remember Shannon for her on-screen roles, she\u2019s been quietly building a legacy off-screen as a wildlife conservationist.<\/p>\n

At Steel City Con<\/a> earlier this year, she revealed that she moved to South Africa eight years ago to focus full-time on her nonprofit, the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation.<\/p>\n

“We’re building a sanctuary,” she revealed. “We have a blind black rhino we’ve been taking care of, and we’re going to bring in more rhinos as soon as we can do an expansion.”<\/p>\n

Her conservation journey began after American Pie, when she founded Animal Avengers, an organization originally dedicated to rescuing domestic animals. Over the years, the mission evolved to focus more on endangered wildlife and habitat protection across Africa.<\/p>\n

“I started my charity \u2026 and it’s just morphed over the years into conservation and wildlife from dogs and cats.”<\/p>\n
