{"id":73364,"date":"2025-10-12T06:43:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T06:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/73364\/"},"modified":"2025-10-12T06:43:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T06:43:10","slug":"supercars-news-fans-console-mostert-with-beer-after-bathurst-1000-failure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/73364\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars news: Fans console Mostert with beer after Bathurst 1000 failure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_6123-copy.jpg\" alt=\"Fans console Mostert with beer after Bathurst 1000 failure\"\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tChaz Mostert sinks a beer after the engine of his #25 Walkinshaw Andretti United Ford Mustang cried no more.<\/p>\n<p>Mostert\u2019s hopes of a third Great Race win evaporated as a failing engine cried enough and his Walkinshaw Andretti United Mustang stopped on Conrod Straight after 58 of 161 laps.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the disappointment, Mostert climbed out of the stricken car and onto a private property on the inside of the circuit at the entry to The Chase.<\/p>\n<p>He was immediately greeted by Shane \u2018Robbo\u2019 Robinson \u2013 a well-known long-time landowner on Conrod Straight, known for throwing Bathurst parties.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t long before Mostert was handed a beer and was smiling and posing for selfies with a swag of racegoers \u2013 a scene that drew laughter from an otherwise flat WAU garage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDisappointing,\u201d surmised team co-owner Ryan Walkinshaw.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChaz\u2019s car was pretty fast, Fabian did a great job as well, obviously not the way we want to end the day for car #25.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\tBathurst 1000 Greenroom Afterparty at The all new Oxford Hotel &#8211; Doors open 8pm Sunday 12th October&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Chaz is on the mountain having a beer with the fans. He\u2019s probably the happiest he\u2019s been all weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure we\u2019re going to be able to get him back before the end of the race.
